Cirque du Soleil steps on the beach shores of Punta Cana during most of the month of February with the show that brings it closer to its origins, combining with elegance and spectacular music, dance and circus act, highlighting the essence of the circus in its purest expression above technological extra factors.
“The mission of this circus is that: rescue the circus as before, pure human beings without machines,” the protagonists explained to the Dominican press after their first function in the country.
With its large tent located in Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, the iconic Cirque du Soleil presents “Bazzar”, an eclectic creativity laboratory, where its acrobatic dancers and musicians design a show of elegant proposal that will be installed here until 23 February.
Individuality charges a potential protagonist within a group of 39 artists who fascinate in a big tent with their performances.
The large tent, with a capacity for 1,500 people, houses amazing circus crew who show their skills in contortionism, aerial dance, juggling, acrobatics and gymnastics on trapeze, ropes, bicycles, hoops …
The cyclist is of maximum emotion. His pirouettes, which preteens would dream of putting them into practice in their neighborhoods, are of fascinating appeal. Up, down, upside down … His body is a pure dynamo on his wheels, generating rhythmic energy of special charm.

The two-hour “Bazzar” (25 minutes in between) includes a set-up of more than 100 people, 27 technicians and 39 artists on stage under a tent, located on the Hard Rock Punta Cana golf course.
The organizers of the event, produced by SD Concerts of the Dominican artistic entrepreneur Saymon Díaz, stressed that it is very important to bring this work to Punta Cana, one of the most exclusive tourist destinations in the Caribbean.
“It’s a unique experience that both Dominicans and tourists visiting this entertainment paradise can live,” said Finn Taylor, senior vice president of Cirque Du Soleil’s touring shows.
Taylor also added that it is a scenic proposal “that both Dominicans and tourists who visit this entertainment paradise can live”.
The functions are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays at 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Sundays at 5:00 and 8:00 PM; Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8:00 PM.
“Our intention is to create a mixture of cultures, colors and acts, all gathered as is done in the classic circuses of the great cities of the world,” El Maestro told Dominican journalists who traveled to Punta Cana to witness the show.
Then he added: “The reaction we have had tonight (Friday) has been very surprising, one of the biggest. We loved receiving a standing ovation. In each country we go the reaction is different; in Arabia people were going to see the show, but here it feels part of the show, they are surprised and applaud more. ”
This “Bazzar”, which has been running since October 2018 when it premiered in India, is the original 43rd production of Cirque du Soleil since the creation of the company, in 1984, in Montreal, Canada. The tickets are for sale at the Listin Diario Club de Lectores and at Tuboleta.com.do.
